<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film to increase viewing angle of a liquid crystal display device and reduce coloring depending upon the viewing angle and easily manufactured at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film has a first optical anisotropic layer (10) satisfying nx>ny>nz, a second optical anisotropic layer (12) having liquid crystal aligning capability and satisfying nx≥ny>nz, and a third optical anisotropic layer (14) containing a liquid crystal compound fixed in an aligned state in this order, wherein, nx, ny, and nz represent a maximum refractive index of each optical anisotropic layer in a film surface, a refractive index in a direction crossing a direction wherein the maximum in-plane refractive index is obtained in a normal direction of the film surface, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
