PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide band light source device for highly efficiently covering a wide band, without using a plurality of excitation light sources. SOLUTION: In the wide band light source device 1A, a laser beam C1 from a light source 10 is branched to a laser beam C2 and a laser beam C3 by a branching part 20 and the beams are outputted. A wide-band light SC light P1 is generated from the laser beam C2 by non-linear optical phenomenon accompanying optical wave guide of an optical fiber 51, and SC light P1 is outputted from an outgoing end of the optical fiber 51. The laser beam C3 becomes a wavelength conversion light laser beam C4 in a frequency multiplier 30. A wide-band light SC light P2 is generated from the laser beam C4 by non-linear optical phenomenon accompanying optical wave guide of an optical fiber 52, SC light P2 is outputted from an outgoing end of the optical fiber 52. SC light P1 and SC light P2 are inputted to a synthesizing part 60; and the Lights are combined and becomes SC light P3. SC light P3 is outputted from the synthesizing part 60.
