PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel with its brightness improved, by minimizing the malfunction rate of barrier ribs and forming a wide discharge space and making the external light reflection reduced. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel comprises first and second substrates arranged to oppose each other, barrier ribs for forming a plurality of discharge zones, by partitioning discharging spaces between the first substrate and the second substrate, an upper dielectric layer formed on the first substrate, and a plurality of discharge electrode pairs, with a voltage applied so as to discharge in the discharge zones. The upper width and the width of an intermediate section at a half height of the barrier rib are different from each other, and the barrier rib and the first substrate, or the barrier rib and the upper dielectric layer are colored to have a subtraction mixing relation. Thus, the plasma display panel embodying FHD level image quality can make the external light reflection reduced and the luminance improved by securing the wide discharge space, and minimize a malfunction rate of the partition.
