PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp composed by eliminating emission unevenness without changing light distribution. SOLUTION: The dielectric barrier discharge lamp has a structure where a bulb facing an external electrode 15 has a flat part, and an external electrode surface 15 facing the flat part is a flat surface parallel to the flat part. By the structure, the dielectric barrier discharge lamp capable of reducing luminance distribution dispersion in the longitudinal direction of the axis of the bulb 10, of reducing deflection of light reflected from the external electrode 15, and of uniformly emitting light, and small in dispersion of a luminance distribution can be provided.
