PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin disk drive device which can mount a disk having different kinds with simple structure. SOLUTION: A disk drive device 11 is provided with a main body 12, a disk tray 15, and a motor unit 25. The disk tray 15 has a first placing part 51 on which a cartridge type disk 13 is placed, and a second placing part 52 on which a bare disk 14 is placed. The second placing part 52 is arranged at a position closer to the motor unit 25 than the first placing part 51. The motor unit 25 can be moved between a first position P1 engaged with the cartridge type disk 13 and a second position P2 disengaged from the bare disk 14 placed on the second placing part 52. The cartridge type disk 13 has a cartridge 61 and a disk main body 62 housed in the cartridge 61.
