PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high-quality information recording taking into consideration sticking of a foreign object or occurrence of flaws. SOLUTION: In an information recording method for recording information on a multilayer optical recording medium where three or more layers of information recording surfaces can be formed, recording is started by irradiating an information recording surface closest from a light incident surface with a laser beam, when all the information recording surfaces are in a blank state.
