PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally control the conversion efficiency of a switching regulator which is decided by the dynamic characteristics of an external component. SOLUTION: A PWM signal is controlled using a software from an MPU, in place of a conventional dedicated IC. In this way, the flexibility of control by the software can be expanded from fixed control by hardware, to ensure stability and high precision of an output voltage, and at the same time, optimization of the conversion efficiency is also controlled.
