PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline polyester yarn which can enhance a weaving density, can reduce a thickness, can improve a weaving property and the quality of a woven fabric, has a small single filament fineness and a high strength, and is excellent in uniformity and wear resistance in the longitudinal direction of the yarn, without deteriorating the characteristics of solid phase polymerized liquid crystalline polyester yarns, such as high strength, high elastic modulus, excellent heat resistance, and excellent thermal dimensional stability. SOLUTION: This liquid crystalline polyester yarn is characterized by satisfying the following conditions (1) to (4). (1) Fusion calorie (ΔHm1) at an endothermic peak (Tm1), measured at a temperature-rising rate of 1.50 to 20°C/min is≥3.0 times a fusion calorie (ΔHm2) at an endothermic peak (Tm2), measured after the observation of Tm1, holding at Tm1+20°C for 5 min, once cooling to 50°C at a temperature-lowering rate of 20°C/min, and then re-heating at 20°C/min. (2) A peak half-value width at Tm1 is <15°C. (3) Single filament fineness is≤18.0 dtex. (4) Strength is≥14.0 cN/dtex, and elastic modulus is≥600 cN/dtex. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
