PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft insertion device of a rapier loom capable of moving a holding part of a movable member constituting a holding part of a rapier head without causing delay or dispersion of timing. SOLUTION: One end of a piezoelectric element 24 is fixed to a movable member 22 of a rapier head 6 and when the piezoelectric element 24 is stretched, the movable member 22 is pressed toward the side of a hook part 20 and a deformation part 22c is elastically deformed so as to be folded thereby and a holding part 22a of the movable member 22 is moved to a holding part 20a of the hook part 20 and the interval between the both is narrowed. Since the deformation part 22c is elastically deformed and the movable member is rotated, expansion and contraction action of the piezoelectric element 24 is directly reflected to swinging motion of rotating member and the movable member 22 can accurately and stably be operated without causing a delay of operating timing of the movable member 22.
