PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent hair from losing softness in the permanent waving of the hair. SOLUTION: The permanent waving method for the hair includes: a first step of rinsing the hair with water after treating the hair with a reductant; and a second step of rinsing the hair with water after treating the hair, treated in the first step, with an oxidant. Functional water, where multivalent cations are removed and sodium ions are added, is used as the water for rinsing. By the permanent waving method, the amounts of calcium and magnesium in the hair are reduced, thereby preventing the hair after the permanent waving from becoming hard. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
