<p>An economically advantageous, safe washing agent for separation membrane that in the washing of separation membranes used in the filtration of public supply water, industrial water, stream water, lake water, groundwater, impounded water, sewage water after secondary treatment, sewage water, wastewater, etc., exhibits washing effects equivalent to or higher than those attained by conventional washing methods, and that does not contain hypochlorites to thereby be free from harmful gas emission or other adverse effects on human body, and that avoids a rinse step involving washing with a large volume of water to thereby shorten the washing time. The washing agent comprises hydrogen peroxide, a heavy metal compound and a hydroxydicarboxylic acid. Preferably, the hydroxydicarboxylic acid is selected from the group consisting of malic acid, tartaric acid, tartronic acid, citramalic acid, dioxymaleic acid and dioxymalonic acid, and the heavy metal compound is an iron ion.</p> |
