<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid storage battery in which chemical conversion efficiency is improved, while the lifetime performance is improved by suppressing reduction of binding force among active material particles. <P>SOLUTION: Since this lead-acid storage battery is equipped with a positive electrode plate manufactured by using a mixture of lead powder and minium as a raw material of the positive electrode active material and since the minium reacts with sulfuric acid to form PbO<SB>2</SB>having high conductivity, chemical conversion efficiency is improved. Moreover, since the minium, having an average particle diameter of 2 μm or smaller is mixed, uneven distribution of parts in which active material intensity is weak is less apt to occur. As a result, since the local softening of the active material that is a triggering factor for deterioration of the active material as a whole is less apt to occur, reduction in the binding force between the active material particles can be suppressed, and the lifetime performance can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
