<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent diffusion layer characteristics with draining capacity enhanced, having good production efficiency and capable of being manufactured by conventional wet-type coating facilities, in a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A solid polymer fuel cell 1 is provided with catalyst layers 4A, 4B mainly composed of carbon black supporting platinum on its both sides adhered on a solid polymer ion exchange film 2 as a center, and gas diffusion layers 7A, 7B for a fuel cell are provided on outside the above. Those catalyst layers 4A, 4B and the gas diffusion layers 7A, 7B are integrated to form an anode electrode 3A (a fuel electrode) and a cathode electrode 3B (an oxidant electrode). A conventional gas diffusion layer is structured only by base diffusion layers 6A, 6B which are manufactured by coating paste made by mixing carbon black powder and PTEF dispersion on a carbon base material, however, the gas diffusion layers 7A, 7B are made by further coating powder diffusion layers 5A, 5B on the base diffusion layers 6A, 6B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
