<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of in-body paper ejection type, with the apparatus being designed, such that even in the configuration in which the front and one of the sides of a paper ejection space are open, an optical system is prevented from falling in the event of breakage of fastening members, the configuration is simple without having to add special members, and an image reading operation can be performed satisfactorily without the optical system having to be inclined. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus of the in-body paper ejection type in which the front and one of the sides of the paper ejection space are open, a reinforcing plate is engaged with the front body frame and the rear body frame on the open side of the paper ejection space. Additionally, the reinforcement plate is fastened near the engaged parts by means of the fastening members, thereby supporting the load of an optical system frame on the engaging parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
