<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily check the present date, and so on in an environment where a magnifying mirror is used in order to manage a standard scale, check date before which food tastes best, printed in small letters, or compare present date and time. <P>SOLUTION: A frame 2 has a magnifying lens 1, and a calendar display part 5 around the lens for displaying at least the present date. A lighting device 8 is attached to the back of the calendar display part 5 of the frame 2, thereby making it easy to observe an object. A handle 3 is attached to the frame, thereby forming the shape of a magnifying glass as a whole. Alternatively, the frame may have a rectangular, triangular, or elliptical shape as viewed from above. In addition, the frame may be formed from first and second flat plates perpendicular to each other, so as to have an L-shaped cross-section.
