<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of efficiently advancing light from a light source in the lateral direction of the lighting system, and of emitting light in a wide range, and easily visible from the lateral direction of the lighting system. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system is provided with a plurality of surface-mounted LEDs 2a-2d, and a translucent part 3. The translucent part 3 is provided with: a translucent part body 31; a plurality of projecting piece-like lens parts 32a-32c arranged at positions corresponding to the surface-mounted LEDs 2a-2d; and a plurality of outer peripheral lenses 32d recessed from the translucent part body 31. The projecting piece-like lens parts 32a-32c project from the translucent part body 31, and are arranged to reduce the projecting height from the translucent part body 31 toward the radially outer side of the translucent part body 31.
