<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas flow meter which can detect a wind direction and a wind amount in an extensive wind amount range from a breeze range up to a strong wind range with high precision, and has high resistance to soiling. <P>SOLUTION: Along with forming a thermocouple 11 using a heating wire 13 and a copper foil 14 as a pair on a printed circuit board 10, a thermistor 12 is arranged on the circuit board 10, and the thermocouple 11 and the thermistor 12 are connected to a control circuit 21. Along with controlling passage of current through the heating wire 13 by an energization control circuit 16, a thermoelectromotive force according to the temperature difference between junctions 15a, 15b of the heating wire 13 with the copper foil 14 are detected along with its polarity together by a thermoelectromotive-force detection circuit 17. Thereby a wind direction and a wind amount in the breeze range can be obtained. Moreover, as to the strong wind range, a wind direction is detected with the thermocouple 11, and a wind amount is detected with the thermistor 12.
