PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a blade capable of improving shape accuracy and making assembly efficiency high. SOLUTION: The blade includes: a plate-like spring member 425; and a rectangular cross-sectional elastic member 430 firmly fixed to one end of the spring member 425 and disposed in contact with a developing roller 41a, thereby regulating the layer thickness of developer held on the developing roller 41a. In the blade, the elastic member 430 is formed by molding a urethane elastomer with predetermined accuracy. The degree of flatness and the degree of evenness of the blade face 431 disposed in contact with the developing roller 41a are set to predetermined accuracy. The perpendicularity of the blade leading end 432 located close to the developing roller 41a and its bevelled shape are set to predetermined accuracy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
