COLOR CORRECTION METHOD IN CONSIDERATION OF DIFFERENCE IN GROUND COLOR OF RECORD MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure absolute color precision while using a ground color of a record medium to be color-matched. SOLUTION: An correction target value DP is set which follows a straight line St indicating color reproduction of a target printing machine 50 in a low luminosity region, and approaches a straight line Sp while gradually seceding from the straight line St in a high luminosity region brighter than a predetermined input luminosity L*in so as to reach a paper ground luminosity L*pw of printing paper to be color-matched at a maximum luminance. Therefore, color reproduction of the target printing machine 50 is absolutely performed in a region where the luminosity is low and the amount of ink adhesion is large, and the color is corrected to be close to the exposed ground color of the printing paper to be color-matched in a region where the luminosity is high and the amount of ink adhesion is small.
