PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for performing optimum route guidance based on the map data of high accuracy. SOLUTION: This navigation device is equipped with: a map data storage part for therein storing road data; a traveling track data generation part generating road data on a traveling track; an addition determination part for comparing the stored road data with the generated road data to determine whether or not an addition has to be made to the storage part; a photograph data acquisition part for acquiring the latest photograph data corresponding to the road data on the traveling track where it is determined that an addition has to be made; a road data extraction part for extracting road data from the photograph data; an update determination part for comparing the extracted road data with road data determined to be added thereto to determine whether or not the storage part has to be updated; a map data updating part for updating the storage part where the update determination part determines that an update has to be made; and a route guidance part for performing route guidance based on map data updated by the updating part.
