PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route searching method capable of providing a safely-travelable guide route corresponding to a time zone, a peripheral environment or the like. SOLUTION: This route searching device forms a route to a designated destination by determining a plurality of partial routes. Concerning each partial route, it is determined whether a road shape of the partial route is pertinent to a specific road shape determined beforehand or not. The specific road shape is a road shape which may become improper for traveling from the viewpoint of safety according to a time zone, a peripheral environment or the like. When the partial route is pertinent to the specific road shape, it is further determined whether the partial route is proper for traveling or not from at least a time condition. When being proper, the route is adopted as a guide route, but on the contrary, when being improper, the route is not adopted as the guide route. Hereby, in the case where the specific road shape becomes an improper route in some time zone, a guide route including such an improper partial route is prevented from being formed.
