PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for washing pet animal, which is simplified in structure as a whole with the washing and wiping-off and drying operations for a four-legged pet animal such as a dog or cat putting to combined use by the same means, giving ease to a relevant pet owner without giving painfulness or unease feeling to the pet animal to be washed, and to provide a method for washing a pet animal using the apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus for washing pet animal is such that a pet animal is washed by rotary brushes each having a radial brush on the external surface of a cylindrical form and many tiny holes via which water is sprinkled from the cylindrical form, therefore the pet animal can be washed by the rotary brushes while wetting the pet animal's body surface with sprinkled water, thus enabling even persistent dirt and dirt inside the pet animal's body hair to be surely washed off. After washing the pet animal by the rotary brushes, a rotary cylinder equipped with water-absorbing means and many hot air-blowing holes is revolved, thus enabling washing water on the pet animal to be wiped off by the water-absorbing means; and as hot air is blown out via the hot air-blowing holes simultaneously with or following wiping off, the wiping-off and drying operations for the pet animal can be conducted by the same apparatus by revolving the rotary cylinder.
