PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a play system for a small animal, which is capable of exercising the small animal, with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The play system for the small animal includes a light source part 4 for irradiating a surface 2a of a mat 2 with a spot light, radiating position-changing means 5 for changing the direction of the light radiation of the light source 4, and a controlling part 6 for controlling the radiating position-changing means 5. A plurality of light-converting parts 3 are provided at positions on the surface 2a of the mat 2, and the light is regulated so as to irradiate the light-converting parts 3 one by one with the light from the light source.
