PURPOSE:To obtain a casting machine which has high rigidity and is trouble-free by using oscillation dams of which the parts in contact with a molten steel are sub-divided and which move back and forth in the same direction as the casting direction for the side dams of a belt type continuous casting machine. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation dams 5 are movably provided on the inside of side guides 14 secured to both sides between upper and lower belts 1 and 2. The dams 5 are moved back and forth in an arrow direction between the belts along the guides 14 by an oscillation generator 16 via a connecting rod 15 at one end thereof. The dams 5 are constituted by positioning many pieces of the sub-divided copper blocks 6 and frames 7 supporting the same by means of keys 19 and connecting the same by lock bolts 11. Guide rollers 8, 9 are provided to the frames 7 made of a material having high rigidity and slight spaces are provided between the belts 1, 2 and the blocks 6. The generation of a camber and bend owing to the heat unbalance of the dams 5 and the sliding contact friction between the belts 1, 2 and the blocks 6 are thus eliminated and the operation is stabilized. |
