<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having improved cycle property and high-potential continuous charging property. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, and nonaqueous electrolyte having nonaqueous solvent and electrolytic salt. The positive electrode contains 0.5-5 mass% lithium phosphate, and the nonaqueous solvent contains a halogenated ethylene carbonate compound shown by the formula.
