<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacked piezoelectric actuator and a liquid discharge head with an improved insulating property, and equipped with dense piezoelectric ceramics. <P>SOLUTION: The stacked piezoelectric actuator is equipped with an electrolytic layer including Ag at least in either of the surface or the inside of a body stacked with a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers including PZT phases as main crystal phases. A lattice constant in a c-axis of the PZT phase lies in a range of 0.4085 to 0.4100 nm, and a ratio of the lattice constant c/a is not smaller than 1.011 in the lattice constant of an a-axis and the lattice constant of the c-axis of the PZT phase. At the same time, no second phase including Ag different from the PZT phase is substantially included in the piezoelectric ceramic layer, and a Zn<SB>2</SB>SiO<SB>4</SB>phase is included in the grain boundary of the PZT phase. Further, no Pb<SB>2</SB>SiO<SB>4</SB>phase is substantially included in the grain boundary of the PZT phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
