<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation support method and an operation support device for quickening a processing speed, and for discriminating various arrow signal lights at low costs without deteriorating precision, and for performing proper operation support. <P>SOLUTION: When an image processor 8 of an operation support device 1 decides the lighting of a red signal light and an arrow signal light, a CPU 2 reads the signal light data SD of a front signal light based on self-vehicle location. Then, the CPU 2 decides whether or not the arrow signal light has been instructed to the self-vehicle based on the object traveling lane data of the arrow signal light of the signal light data SD and the self-vehicle traveling lane on which the self-vehicle is traveling.
