PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily operate an operation part provided in a cover body while making a device itself compact in size. SOLUTION: A recording and/or reproducing device for a recording medium is provided with; a device main body having recording and/or reproducing parts for the recording medium; and a cover body which is rotatively provided in the device main body and has an operation part on its upper surface side, wherein the operation part has at least one operation button 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50. An aperture part 66a for inserting a battery 68, an accommodation part 66 which accommodates the battery 68 inserted from the aperture part 66a, and a battery cover 67 which opens and closes the aperture part 66a are provided in the device main body. The accommodation part 66 is provided so that it protrudes downward from the under surface of the device main body, and the accommodation part 66 is installed as the installation part.
