PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk unit which can prevent an inclination of a clamper due to deformation of a cover chassis from causing sliding failure and reduce gripping failure and scratch noise generation. SOLUTION: The optical disk unit comprises a main chassis 1, a cover chassis 2, a traverse chassis 3, an optical disk transportation mechanism, an optical disk detecting mechanism, a driving force transmitting mechanism, an optical disk driving mechanism 7, and a stopper 25 for standing upward at an edge of the front side of a through hole 24 of the cover chassis 2 so that an elastic force working on the cover chassis 2 and coming from a torsion spring for biasing a flap 42 of the optical disk transportation mechanism is directed to the body face of the cover chassis 2.
