PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which heat quantity equivalent to endoergic quantity needs to be supplied if endoergic reaction occurs during fuel reformation and reaction heat becomes energy loss if exoergic reaction occurs during fuel reformation in an internal combustion engine with a fuel reformer. SOLUTION: An exhaust system 3 is provided with an exhaust fuel catalyst 4 in a middle of an inside of an exhaust pipe, and is provided with a first fuel reformer 5 converting high self ignitable fuel to low self ignitable fuel by endoergic reaction and a second fuel reformer 6 forming reformed gas by exoergic reaction near the exhaust fuel catalyst 4. The first fuel reformer 5 has a structure capable of receiving reaction heat generated in the second fuel reformer 6 and using the reaction heat for conversion to the low self ignitable fuel.
