PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic thermal container which enables a user to easily have a meal by suppressing the whole height of the metallic thermal container, while enlarging a thermal space with respect to the outer dimension of the thermal container and securing high heat insulation property. SOLUTION: The metallic thermal container 1 includes: a metallic vacuum double container 2 with an open top; and a metallic vacuum double container lid 3 for covering the vacuum double container. The end surface 28 of an opening of the metallic vacuum double lid 3 performs covering in a part lower than the upper opening 9 of the metallic double container. A seal member 24 is arranged on the outer wall 15 of the vacuum double container or the inner wall 25 of the vacuum double lid. A resin-made inner container 4 is arranged on the inner surface of the vacuum double container 2. The flange diameter W2 of the opening is made equal to or more than the diameter W7 of the opening of the vacuum double container and also is made smaller than the inner diameter W1 of the vacuum double lid 3. Thus, the high heat insulation is secured, the whole height H1 of the whole container 1 is suppressed, and the shape for enabling the user to easily eat food being the content of the metallic thermal container 1 can be obtained.
