PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of recording an observed image or a comparison image of a desired region with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The endoscope system comprises: a lamp 32; a filter unit 33 which is placed in the light path of the lamp 32 and is provided with an illumination rotary plate 41 equipped with filters 61, 62, and 63 that enable normal light observation and special light observation, and a pulse motor 42 for turnably driving the illumination rotary plate 41; a rotary plate driving control unit 73 for controlling the rotation of the illumination rotary plate 41; an endoscope 2 having an illumination optical system 21 and an observation optical system 22; a recording part 4b for recording an image signal output by an imaging device 22b; a memory 74 for storing at least one of a recording method for recording one image signal or a recording method for recording the comparison image to the recording part 4d; a recording image selection switch 37d for selecting a recording method from among recording methods stored in the memory 74; and an instructing means 26d for instructing the recording part 4b to record an image signal according to the selected recording method.
