<p>In a ceramic honeycomb structure (2), a catalyst material (1), which is used for combusting soot discharged from an internal combustion engine, is supported by a partition wall (22) serving as the inner surface of a cell (3). For example, the catalyst material is a substance used for combusting carbon, specifically a catalyst consisting of silver and alumina and having a dumbbell-like O-Ag-O structure. Consequently, this catalyst material enables to combust soot at a low temperature without corroding the honeycomb structure onto which it is loaded.</p> |
