SOFT CAPSULE SKIN DERIVED FROM NON-ANIMAL MATERIAL AND SOFT CAPSULE HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capsule skin derived from a non-animal material and a soft capsule having the same which are excellent in the aspect of cost, productivity, heat energy efficiency and quality and are obtained through a novel technical development which provides appropriate viscosity, elasticity and enhanced transparency to λ carrageenan by adding a specified amount of a metal salt to non-gelling λ carrageenan to put it in a weak acidic condition.

SOLUTION: The soft capsule 1 is formed by covering a content N with a soft skin part 2. The composition of the skin part 2 is formed by mixing starch, λ carrageenan, a metal salt, dextrin, a plasticizer, and water.
