<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image analysis system capable of accurately computing the depth in the optic papilla region and in the optic papilla cup region of a fundus image which can be three-dimensionally expressed without being hindered with a plurality of blood vessels running in the ocular fundus. <P>SOLUTION: The image analysis system 1 has the ocular fundus including the optic papilla region and the optic papilla cup region as the object to be photographed, and the depth profile curve is computed by using the depth information 11 included in the captured fundus image data 6. The optic papilla cup region is accurately determined by assuming that the optic papilla region has a smooth curved surface, and the accurate value of the C/D ratio is provided for an ophthalmologist, etc. The image analysis system 1 is mainly composed of an image analysis computer 2 capable of providing useful information for diagnosis of ophthalmologic diseases such as the glaucoma. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
