BEARING WITH SENSOR FOR WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing with a sensor for a wheel to accurately detect a force acting between a tire of the wheel and a road surface whether it is at rest or at low speeds.

SOLUTION: An external member 1 which is a fixed-side member comprises a flange 1a for vehicle body mounting to be mounted on the outer circumference thereof and is provided with bolt holes 14 at a plurality of circumferential places of the flange 1a. The flange 1a is given protrusive pieces 1aa with their circumferential portions provided with several bolt holes 14 projecting farther than the other portions to the outer diameter side. End face portions of each protrusive piece 1aa on circumferential both sides at their base ends are circular arc surface parts 1aa1 connected in circular front shapes to outer diameter surfaces of non-molded parts of the protrusive pieces 1aa of the flange 1a. The surface parts 1aa1 are each provided with a strain enlarging means 20 for enlarging strain of the external member 1, with a strain gauge 16 stuck on each of the enlarging means 20. An estimation means is provided for estimating the force acting between the tire of the wheel and the road surface by means of an output signal of the strain gauges 16.
