<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wireless-tag using measuring-instrument management system that conducts a management, such as search, inventory, lending or returning, carrying-out prevention or the like for a measuring instrument, without the malfunction of the measuring instrument during its use and in a mode that does not have effects on measuring data, even though a communicable-active type wireless tag is used even at a comparatively separated distance. <P>SOLUTION: In the wireless-tag using measuring-instrument management system, the active type wireless tag is attached on the measuring instrument, and an enquiry signal is transmitted from a tag reader and the measuring instrument is managed. The wireless tag alternately repeats a sleep mode for a fixed period and a receiving mode for monitoring the reception of the enquiry signal from the tag reader, when it is at a normal standby.
