PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical direct amplifier capable of reducing power consumption in a simple configuration at a low cost. SOLUTION: In addition to an optical amplification medium 11 which demonstrates an optical amplification function by being excited by a semiconductor laser 19 and a temperature control circuit 14 which controls the temperature of the optical amplification medium 11, the optical direct amplifier is provided with a heat radiation substrate 15 for radiating heat generated by the semiconductor laser 19 and a Peltier module 12 for preventing the heat from flowing from the optical amplification medium 11 into the semiconductor laser 19 for excitation. The Peltier module 12 functions as a heat transmission adjusting means for allowing the heat to flow from the semiconductor laser 19 into the optical amplification medium 11 and preventing the heat from flowing from the optical amplification medium 11 into the semiconductor laser 19.
