PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high power zoom lens which is small-sized and has a high variable power ratio and has a small residual secondary spectrum of axial chromatic aberration and is capable of maintaining high optical performance. SOLUTION: A high power zoom lens comprises a first group G1 as a stationary group which is stationary when varying the power and a second group G2 as a variable power group which is disposed on the image side of the first group and is moved in an optical axis direction to perform the power varying action when varying the power. The first group G1 comprises: a first lens group G11 which includes a negative meniscus lens L11 and a positive lens L12 and has a positive refractive power as a whole; and a second lens group G12 which is disposed on the image side of the first lens group G11 and comprises a negative lens group GN including a negative meniscus lens L13 and a positive lens L14 and a positive lens group GP including at least one positive lens L15, in this order from the object side and has a positive refractive power as a whole.
