PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small measurement head of high performance for measuring the surface viscosity/elasticity such as viscosity coefficient or surface tension by observing the damping process of the surface wave induced on a liquid surface by interference of heat light. SOLUTION: The measurement head induces the surface wave by forming an interference fringe on the liquid sample surface, makes an observation light come, acquires a signal waveform showing time variation of diffracted light intensity diffracted by the induced surface, analyzes the signal waveform, and thus measures the surface viscosity/elasticity of the liquid sample. The tips of two optical fibers 1, 2 for forming two interference fringes for making two light fluxes forming the interference fringes come into the liquid sample surface while forming an angle, the tip of one optical fiber 3 for observation light for making the observation light come into the induced surface of the liquid sample surface, and the tip of one optical fiber 4 for diffracted light for acquiring the diffracted light diffracted by the induced surface are mounted to the same substrate 10 to mutually form angles.
