PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve on-vehicle mounting property while reducing cost. SOLUTION: The starting device for the vehicle is provided with a hub member 32 for integrally rotating with an input shaft 14 between driving gears 19, 20 mounted to the input shaft 14 in a manner capable of idling, a sleeve 35 for engaging with the hub member 32 at an outer circumference of the hub member 32 by a spline in an axially movable manner and has a transmission 3 including a synchronizing device for synchronizing rotation speed of the input shaft 14 and one of the driving gears 19, 20 by axial move of a sleeve 35 and integrally rotating the input shaft 14 and the driving gear. A gear train provided on an outer circumference of the sleeve 35, and having gears 43, 45, 47 and a one-way clutch 44 combined together is provided. A starter motor 4 provided outside of a case of the transmission 3 and including a gear 48 meshed and connected with the gear 47 in the gear train is provided.
