PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide side vehicle body structure for an automobile capable of securely transmitting an impact load at the time of vehicle side collision from an impact beam to a vehicle body component. SOLUTION: A load transmission member 22 formed by bending a steel plate material is arranged between the impact beam 20 and a seat frame (vehicle body component) 18. The load transmission member 22 comprises a deformation part 22a engaged with the impact beam 20 and deformed to the vehicle inner side so as to hold the impact beam 20 at the time of vehicle side collision and a load transmission part 22b continued to the deformation part 22a and transmitting the collision load from the impact beam 20 to the seat frame 18.
