PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot control system for welding robot which can arbitrarily change a bending angle of a welding torch without exchanging the torch, is adaptable to various workpiece shapes, eliminates the need of mounting new devices on the welding torch end, and also is easily made applicable to an existing welding robot. SOLUTION: The CPU of the robot system controls the operation of a robot body 4a of a robot, engaging a welding torch 4b, a flexible torch, with a fixing device 11. Then, the CPU controllably operates the robot body 4a, with the welding torch 4b engaged with the fixing device 11, and thereby varying the shape of the welding torch 4b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
