Method for digitally demodulating analogue television signals, wherein said analogue television signals comprise a video signal and a sound signal, comprising: converting said analogue television signal into a complex base band; following a phase and /or a frequency of a carrier of said video signal; and filtering said video signal with a vestigial band filter (500) after said step of following said phase and/ or said frequency. A corresponding digital demodulator is presented as well.
