A heat exchanger plate is provided to reduce manufacturing time and a cost by manufacturing a first groove to have a rectangular cross-sectional shape. A heat exchanger plate comprises a flat main body(2) and a cover(3). At least one first groove(4) having a rectangular cross-sectional shape is formed on the surface of the flat main body. The cover having substantially the same shape as the first groove in plain view, of which an opposite side is contacted to a bottom of the first groove, of which two side surfaces are contacted to two side surfaces of the first groove, and of which a surface is flush with the surface of the flat main body. A second groove(5) is formed at a center of the opposite side of the cover along two side surfaces. The cover is joined to the main body by friction stir welding.
