PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spray apparatus for filling material in a groove capable of optionally adjusting the spray amount of a filling material when the groove shape varies due to the different in a plate thickness of a steel sheet to be welded, or the like and capable of spraying the filling material to the groove having various shapes from a thin plate to a thick plate. SOLUTION: A support part 22 supports a spray nozzle 21 having a flat opening 21a for spraying the filling material and is rotatable around the shaft vertical to the opening 21a. According to the size of the groove 4, the direction of the opening 21a of the spray nozzle 21 is adjusted such that the longitudinal direction of the flat is within a range from the welding line direction to the groove width direction. That is, when the groove shape is small, the longitudinal direction of the flat is set in the welding line direction; and when the groove shape is large, the longitudinal direction of the flat is set in the groove width direction. When the groove shape is intermediate thereof, the longitudinal direction of the flat is set in the direction tilted at angles of 90 degrees or smaller with respect to the welding line.
