PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive expansion valve, and a refrigerating unit using this expansion valve, by forming a muffling chamber before and after an orifice part without largely increasing processing manhours and the number of part items in a body itself of the expansion valve. SOLUTION: In this expansion valve, a valve chest 3 is arranged inside the body 1, and the orifice part 7 is formed between a valve element 2 stored in the valve chest 3 and a valve seat 6. Two joint pipes 10 and 11 are installed in the body 1 so as to communicate with the front and rear of the orifice part 7. The joint pipes 10 and 11 function as an inlet-outlet port, and connecting parts 10b and 11b connecting a connecting pipe are formed on the tip side. An expanded part 11a of enlarging the cross-sectional area of a fluid passage is integrally molded on the body side in at least one joint pipe (11 in Fig.1). Noise is reduced by restraining a pressure variation in a refrigerant by making this expanded part 11a act as an expansion chamber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
