PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of improving visibility of various kinds of information when a body with high luminance is included in the visual field of a transmissive display device. SOLUTION: The display device includes a display part, a luminance detector, a glare prevention part, and a control part. The display part guides transmits luminous flux incident from a device input side and guides it to a device output side, and superposes arbitrary information representation on a visual field image formed with the transmitted luminous flux to present them to a user from the device output side. The luminance detector acquires luminance information corresponding to the visual field image. The glare prevention part decreases the quantity of transmitted luminous flux based upon the output of the luminance detector. The control part relatively varies the quantity of transmitted luminous flux at a display part of the glare prevention part as compared with that in the absence of the information display when a high-luminance region of the visual field image and a display part of the information display overlap each other.
