PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner that can maintain sufficient image density from the initial stage of printing to finishing up the toner, allow printing with high picture quality free from streak or toner dropping, and suppresses the toner consumption. SOLUTION: The method includes steps of: preliminarily mixing a first silica having a BET specific surface area of from 130 m<SP>2</SP>/g to less than 250 m<SP>2</SP>/g and a second silica having a BET specific surface area of from 250 m<SP>2</SP>/g to less than 380 m<SP>2</SP>/g to prepare a mixture silica; and depositing the mixture silica on the surface of toner base particles.
