PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a learning system capable of dealing even with an answer, the large part of which is hand-written without increasing the scale or enhancing the performance of devices. SOLUTION: In the learning system, a user is made to learn through the following process: a terminal receives user's answer to a problem and transmits it to a server; the server determines whether the answer is correct or incorrect and transmits the determination result to the terminal; and the terminal provides the determination result to the user. The terminal stores (S12) the hand-written answer to the problem received (S11) from the user in a storage section as vector data, and transmits (S14) the vector data of the stored hand-written answer to the server. The server receives (S20) the vector data of the handwritten answer from the terminal, performs patten recognition (S21) of the answer, determines (S22) whether the pattern-recognized answer is correct or incorrect, and transmits (S24) the determination result of correct/incorrect to the terminal.
